Samantha's Bat Mitzvah Book

This 11 X 14 inch, 30-page album was created with hand painted covers, a combination of fibers and beads and plexiglas. It was created on commission for a young girl's Bat Mitzvah celebration to serve as a guest book and scrapbook of the special day.

The 30 pages of Canson Mi-Teintes paper and 30 spacers are stab bound with waxe linen thread strung with beads on the spine.

The head of the spine is also embellished with a wide variety of colors and types of fibers, from wool yarn to silk ribbon and everything in between. Some of the fibers are also strung with a variety of beads and there is also an "S" charm adorning one of the silk ribbons.

A plexiglas title plate is strung from a window with waxed linen thread and multi colored brads and then mounted on the hand painted covers for an extra special finishing touch.
