This piece was inspired by the lovely photograph of the aged and rusted lock of an old trunk recieved in an image swap from Kelly Kilmer. The vintage portrait is from Aisling d'Art's Instant Ancestors 2 CD. Whenever I think of old rusted locks and keys my mind jumps to lost loves. I'm not sure why. But I thought the look on the lovely woman's face looked like that of fond memories and perhaps a little wishful thinking that a long lost love might return to her.
