Drum Carded Lincoln Single
Date: 2005-10-16 Notes: When I removed the batt from its bag and went to split it for spinning I noticed that it was quite evident that we are not accustomed to drum carding fiber. The batt was very uneven and neppy. So, I decided to not fight it and make a thick and thin, somewhat slubby singles yarn. I also wasn't overly attached to the electric purple color that resulted so I did a randome Kool-Aid overdye of it. I randomly sprinkled Cherry and Black Cherry Kool-Aid on the dampe yarn, wrapped it in plastic wrap and used the microwave setting method and let it sit overnight. I think it will become a child's stocking hat for charity. |
