Great Mail!
Last week was an awful week for me. The issues that made it bad are still not resolved, but I’m on a much more even keel this week. The bright spot in last weeks crappiness? An unexpected ringing of the doorbell and our mail lady there holding a box sent airmail. It was a surprise package from Mrs Pao!
She sent some much needed chocolates and the cookie at the top of the post. There was also some coffee grounds (which I brewed a pot of this past weekend and was very good), a mystery book involving tea that I’m looking forward to getting to read, a book of traditional tea time bread recipes, and some Violet Green sock yarn. I keep picking up and reading the bread recipe book and drooling. I love that it gives you the history of the recipes for things like baps, plum bread, and many, many others. I’m looking forward to having the energy to try them out soon.
Look at that sock yarn? Greens of every hue! I’m so excited. Having moved to Colorado from wetter and colder climes 9.5 years ago my biggest struggle with living here (other than being so far removed from my family) is the lack of green. This yarn will brighten my winter knitting after the holidays and allow me to dream of those few short weeks in the spring when we are green here. And, I can eat baps and hot crossed buns while knitting on it ;-)
Thanks so much Mrs Pao (and Pao), your timing couldn’t have been better!
