Private Knitting and Spinning Lessons
Goal-based private lessons are available in both knitting and spinning from Kristi Schueler. The price for the lessons varies depending upon the goal and the lesson location.
The goals for the lessons can be to knit a specific pattern, spin a specific type of yarn, learn a new to you knitting or spinning technique, learn to adjust a knitting pattern for a better fit and more. If applicable, handouts are included in the fee. For spinning lessons some fiber will be included.

For a specific quote on cost, please send an e-mail to Kristi at patterns (at) designedlykristi (dot) com and include the goal(s) you are wishing to work towards, your preferred lesson time and location, as well as a brief description of your current skill level.
Duration
Lessons are scheduled for a minimum of 1 hour but can be anywhere up to 3 hrs depending on your needs. The number of required sessions depends upon your goals. Typically sessions are weekly and are paid for in 4 session blocks. At the end of each block of lessons there is no commitment to continue lessons further should either party (the student or teacher) decide that lessons are no longer needed or positive.
Homework
It is expected that the student will have “homework” to complete between lessons, either to reinforce the skills presented in the lesson or to reach the point in the project that a new skill is required to be learned in the next session. It is important to be truthful with yourself and Kristi about your available knitting or spinning time when scheduling the sessions so you are not stressed trying to reach the goals before the next lesson.
Rescheduling
Lessons may need advance rescheduling due to vacations or other conflicts. I kindly ask for at least 48 hours notice when rescheduling is required. A concerted effort will be made to reschedule lessons within one week of the original time. There is no guarantee that I can accommodate a reschedule for a lesson canceled with less than 48 hours. For lessons canceled with less than 24 hour notice the lesson is forfeited.
Small Group Lessons
If you have friends who share your goals small group lessons can also be arranged. A maximum of 6 students is enforced, though it is recommended that small group lessons have 4 or fewer students. This ensures everyone receives some personal instruction. Rates for small group lessons differ from private lessons so be sure to specify if small group is of interest to you.
Locations
Lessons within Fort Collins city limits, but outside of the area defined on the west by Overland Trail, the east by Lemay, the north by LaPorte, and the south by Harmony will incur a small travel surcharge. For lessons outside the Fort Collins city limits, travel time will be included in the fee.
Arrangements may be able to be made to meet at a public location within the normal lesson travel range.
