Colors and Knit-Outs…
I’ve decided that I’m done (at least for a while) with the posting Monday through Friday thing. I’m going to give a try at just posting when I have something worthwhile to say rather than trying to trump up a post just for the sake of posting. I think all my usual topics will remain as elements here - cooking/baking, gardening, and reading in addition to my creative output.
The photo above should tell you a little something about what I’ll be waxing poetic about next week - color! It is such a large topic and one that never fails to entertain and challenge me. I’ve added Deb Menz’s Color Works to my stack of reference books for the next large scale project. I even finally tore out the templates for the color wheel so I could better play with my split complementary, tetrad, square tetrad, etc. color harmonies. This book is a valuable resource for choosing colors in a project of any kind - knitting (obviously, though I bought it before I was a knitter), sewing, quilting, beading, rubberstamping, collage, and even traditional forms of painting. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to charge ahead in choosing their own colors for various projects. The information is pretty technical, but backed up with fantastic examples and the punch-out color wheel and templates make it easy to explore what you are reading about.
Who all will be at the Boulder Knit-Out tomorrow?? A few of us SnB gals will be there, so stop by and say hi if you see us there! I hope you all have a great weekend!
