Designedly, Kristi Classrooms

Kristi Schueler

I am a mixed media and book artist residing in Fort Collins, CO, though I am a Minnesota native and spent 5 years in North Dakota before settling in Fort Collins. I have been teaching classes online since 1997 and even pioneered some techniques for teaching meteorology over the Internet. I taught art classes with Eclectic Academy for 2.5 years prior to striking out on my own and offering the classes here.

Internet Access Problems (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Monday, 24 October 2005, 12:57 PM

Our ISP is performing "upgrades" for I don't know how long. It's been ten days now. It is causing outages for our cable access and they seem to last longer and longer each time. Right now I'm posting from a restaurant with wi-fi. However, I cannot afford to go to a restaurant daily and cannot stay there for hours on end so there are likely to be some longer delays than normal in getting replies from me to the forum posts.

Last Term of Classes Begins Wed Oct 5th! (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Tuesday, 27 September 2005, 09:06 AM

It is with reluctance and sadness that I write this. At this time, the October term of classes at Designedly, Kristi here will be the last term for the foreseeable future.

There will be some changes going on around our house late in the year that will require adjustments and changes and until things are resettled there will be no further terms of on-line classes offered.

New Term to Start Wednesday! (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Monday, 11 July 2005, 01:13 PM

Because of the holiday last week I left the classrooms open for a few extra days. I have now closed them (except Creative Color, if you don't wish to hang around in that classroom feel free to unenroll yourself).

The next term begins on Wednesday and because it is summer and enrollment is usually down I'm only offering Bodacious Backgrounds, Intro to Collage Design and Vintage Collage Techniques.

Trying Week... (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Tuesday, 7 June 2005, 10:27 PM

It is only Tuesday night and it has been a *very* trying week at chez Schueler - already. I have week four activated for all the classes now, but I can barely hold my eyes open any longer and I haven't gotten the week 4 forums set up for all the classes yet. If it isn't there now, it will be later tomorrow afternoon (I'll regrettably be out all morning).

I apologize for the delay, but I'm liable to make some terrible, incomprehendable typos if I continue.

Go forth and be creative!

Happy Memorial Day! (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Friday, 27 May 2005, 06:14 PM

I'm suspecting that many are away from their computers for the weekend already. But those of you in the US who are still around, I hope you have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

I will be among the many celebrating (or rather visiting with family) this weekend so I will not be back at my computer the normal amount until Tuesday morning. Should something be urgent, you have my e-mail address. I will try to log on once a day, but my stay online will be short.

Go forth and be creative!

Busy, Busy! (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Tuesday, 24 May 2005, 10:01 AM

My in-laws are arriving at some point today for a week's visit. So, between finishing the latest lesson for the Creative Color class I'm needing to do some house straightening etc. So, I'll reply to messages on the board tomorrow sometime. Sorry for the delay...

by Kristi Schueler - Tuesday, 3 May 2005, 11:10 AM

Just a quick reminder to those currently enrolled in the April/May term of classes here that the classrooms will be closing tomorrow, Wednesday, May 4th. Please be sure you've saved all the lessons to your hard drive or printed them out. If you contact me after the classrooms close for copies I will have to charge you extra to cover costs of burning and shipping a CD to you.

Referrals Are Great! (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Friday, 1 April 2005, 09:37 AM

It seems someone has gracious referred a large number of people to this site. Unfortunately, it has meant a huge number of e-mails from people who don't seem to notice the link in the column on the right hand side that directs people to my main web site for more info on the classes.

As I'm having some hand/wrist trouble and I've spent all my alloted keyboard time answering literally dozens of e-mails asking for enrollment keys by people who haven't enrolled in courses and I'm behind in opening the enrollment for next term.

E-mail Troubles? (in Site news)
by Kristi Schueler - Thursday, 17 March 2005, 10:37 AM

If you are having difficulties getting the e-mails from me or your other classmates you might want to check out http://wl.s4m2.com/. It covers ways to prevent legit e-mailers from being blocked if you have e-mail accounts with Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL and Gmail. Even if you don't have those services you might look it over as the process is also similar for other propular ISPs.
