Lime, Lavender & Aqua - Sights and Scents of Summer
Andi Stern had asked for a certain look for the work in her Lime, Lavender and Aqua journal. I followed her request for the first spread by keeping a retro feel. However, after some discussion and a poll on the list it was decided everyone prefered people to do the work they felt moved to do. So, for this second spread I followed my muse. To me, these colors scream summer to me (even though it was February in Colorado when I was working in this). So, I chose large, bold imagery in the colors of the journal - a slice of lime, a sprig of lavender and a large hydrangea - I placed them over watercolor paper that had been treated with thin washes of acrylic paint in greens and aqua colors.
