XVIII - The Moon
This card was again made digitally in Adobe Photoshop using royalty free images from several sources, including the government. The tower and the line of the trees in the background emulate the gateway formed by the two towers on the traditional Raider-Waite card which symbolizes a passage into the unknown. Instead of a water way, a path through the woods was used and to evoke more tension and apprehension about the passage, fog was created. The wolves symbolize our animal selves that often surface with the cycle of the moon. Some things feel slightly out of place, such as the tower alone in the middle of the woods, to represent the lack of reality often seen in our imaginings which is implied by the reflective light of the moon. |
