Spindle Spun Yarn GalleryIn October Kristi attended a free demonstration of spinning yarn with a drop spindle. The method she learned wasn't compatible with her health problems and quickly let her spindle collect dust. However, in July of 2005 a friend began working on spindle spinning just before Kristi was to depart on a trip without her spinning wheel companion. So, Kristi picked up her spindle again and gave it a shot using a slightly different method so that she could spin while on her trip. Here you can view her spindle spun yarns. At this time she owns two drop spindles. One is a 1.7 oz top or bottom whorl spindle made mostly of Bubinga wood by Spindlewood Company which she calls Bubba. The other is a 1.0 oz Mt. St. Helen spindle from Cascade Spindle Company.
