As Close as I’m Gonna Get…

to red, white and blue today.
The yarn is nearly red, I’m blue and take your pick on the white!
Pain levels have been excrutiatingly high since Friday night. I spun some on Saturday, but didn’t spin or knit at all yesterday and we’ll have to see about tonight. I’m going to make a *very* short appearance at a friend’s gathering somewhere around mid-evening I think and then I’ll call it a night and come open up the house to cool off and leave DH to enjoy the food, drink and fireworks for the rest of the night. We’re bringing some homemade chocolate silk ice cream, grilled pizza and my famous white sangria lite.
Okay, back to the fibery goodness….

Here is a closer look at my fifth handspun skein from Suzie (I really need a new name for her as I’m not fond of Suzie, but so far she isn’t talking to me). It’s a 2-ply that is roughly DK weight and remarkably even if I do say so myself. If I’m remembering correctly it’s 2.2 oz of fiber from the Bountiful grab bag I got at EPWM and I know the yardage is 108 yds. I’m *very* happy with this skein!
I hope all of you American readers out there are having yourselves a nice 4th of July day today however you choose to celebrate it. Snow, I hope you are partying hard and leaving your troubles behind for today. If you need distraction after your reovery period tomorrow, let me know!
Anyone who admires lace knitting, don’t miss Snow’s more recent posts on her lace knitting, it’s awe inspiring - and she could use the pick-me-up of some kind and gushing comments!
