Three of Diamonds Sock Pattern

This cabled sock pattern is a great unisex pattern for your library. It features cabled diamond motifs on each side of the leg which them combine to form a third diamond in the gusset of the sock. A non-traditional gusset placement follows the lines of the cable making the sock fun and unique to knit.
- Skill Level: Intermediate
- Sizes: 5 sizes with finished sock circumference of 7 - 10 inches and custom foot length
- Gauge: 36 sts and 44 rnds per 4″ (row gauge is important for this pattern)
- Yarn Requirements: Any fingering weight sock yarn. Shown here is Miss Babs Yummy Sock and Baby 2-Ply Fingering, Sandi’s Red Monochrome; 100% Superwash Merino; 400yd/100gm
- Needles: Set of Five 2.75mm DPNs and set of five 2.5 mm DPNs, or size needed to obtain gauge on smaller needles plus a set 0.25 - 0.5mm larger
- Other Notions: Stitch markers, cable needle, and tapestry needle
This pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters who have prior experience knitting socks, working cables, and reading charts. You should know how to knit in the round, purl, ssk, k2tog, sl 1, yo, and pick up stitches. The pattern is written for 5 DPNs, but it could be adjusted to the Magic Loop or Two Circulars for those already familiar with those techniques.
