Moving Slowly…

Filed under: Moi — Kristi at 11:45 am on Thursday, May 24, 2007

I’m moving slowly today (well, this week really). I think it is the hormones. I have no energy, pain levels are once again elevated, allergies are at least 50% worse than normal, and I want to just be a sloth and lay in bed.

Instead, I showered and headed over to my fav locally owned coffeeshop. Partially to hang Script Frenzy posters up for DH (he got suckered into being the local coordinator for this first annual writing frenzy that starts in June) and partially hoping an influx of good caffiene and the different atmosphere might further motivate. That said, despite the fact that I’m the only on in here on a lap top, the Internet is *very* slow too.

When I’m feeling slothful one of the things I like to do most is play in Photoshop as I can do so comfortably from bed or the loveseat or chair or futon in the basement when my Vaio was functioning. It has been February since that was working (and no word from the shop). These graphics I started when I was on a roll from designing freezer paper stencils. (These are much too intricate for that.) I hadn’t really worked on them since. But, last week my new Adobe Creative Suite for the Mac arrived so I can once again do graphics work on a laptop! So, I returned to them. It was probably good to edit something already started to begin with as I took a huge version leap, from 6.0 to CS3. But so far, it still does what I’m accustomed to doing more or less the same. I can’t wait to start to explore the new stuff though!

Feel free to comment on your favorite color/background combos…

Computer stuff is the best thing to do when feeling slothfull! That way, it seems like things have gotten accomplished even if you don’t move around so much.

I really like the white sheep on the dark background and vice versa. They are all so cute!

I like the white sheep on the black background the best. Well, I think I prefer the black background to the white background.

I hope you feel better! I’ll be sure to send you extra energy!! :)

I love all of them but, I think that the rainbow sheep on the black background is the one that makes me smile.

Isn’t color amazing?! The black background really makes the lavender sheep pop out, as well as the psychedelic one in the bottom right corner, and all the teeth against black faces, while the white background highlights the light green and teal ones and the psychedelity (is that even a word?) of the purple edging on the multi-color really fades away. I miss Photoshop, and should spend some time investigating what is currently available, but just bought myself a smaller yet better camera. I sure hope that global warming doesn’t make allergy season worse; I have said “this is the worst year ever” for about the past two or three years. Hope your mood improved. Hugs across the miles.

White sheep/black background and vice versa, just because of the “pop” - they are ALL adorable!!

Enjoy CS3 and your extra outlet of creativity! And feel better soon!!!

Delurking to let you know about the best thing I have found for sinus allergies, a neti pot. Normally my fall allergies are far worse than spring, but I normally sneeze and sniffle and blow my nose in the spring also. This year, I finally tried to use the neti pot I bought last year, and am kicking myself for not using it sooner. Clear sinuses are too good not to share. My Ear Nose and Throat surgeon first recommended it, and now Oprah has joined the bandwagon.
Last weekend, after mowing the lawn, and starting to sneeze and blow my nose, I cleaned my sinuses with the neti pot and the symptoms went away, with no drug intervention. And, while the cotton was blowing, I didn’t have any trouble. So, google neti pot for more information. Vitamin Cottage is where I found mine.

The sheep are fantastic. I want a t-shirt.

Knit.1 just arrived. Now that you are famous, will you still knit with us?

I’m the “black sheep” of this group so far since I like the Green sheep on both backgrounds the best! It pops more for me than any of the others and it makes me smile. :)

I hope you’re feeling up to par again very soon.

Oh I love them. I would love one of them on the back of a tee shirt!

You could even sell the graphic :-) Then I could make my own at cafe press :-)

I really like the rainbow sheep. I’m with Jenn…I’d like to have a dark colored tee shirt with the full nine sheep graphic on it to wear. That would be too cool.

Hope you feel better soon.

I love all of your sheep. You can see the sheep better on the light background, but I like the dark background better. I want a shirt or square bottom totebag with the nine sheep graphic. The sheep look like rolled balls of yarn stuck together in a sheep shape. They’re fun for knitters or people who like natural fibers.

[…] On a lot of fronts I’m running slow. I’m slow in getting my post out today. I’m slow in getting stuff knit. I’m slow in getting stuff spun. I am perhaps doing a bit too much all at once to see a lot of progress on anything. That said, I finally did something with those sheep graphics I started working on a week or two ago… […]
