The pattern for this cute and stunningly realistic strawberry hat is available for purchase now!
The pattern includes three sizes, infant, toddler and child and all three sizes require less than 1 skein of Lion Brand Jiffy or less than 135 yd of a similar yarn for the body and left overs of worsted weight green and black yarn. Substituting a blue or purple body and omitting the seeds makes great blueberry or eggplant hats too!
For the most satisfactory results you should be familiar with knitting in the round with DPNs, increasing, decreasing, I-cord, and French knots; or have resources to learn such techniques.
