Knitting and Movies…
A while back we signed up for GreenCine (like NetFlix, but with an ephasis on independent and art films, though they have many blockbusters as well) and I ran across this list of movies that have kniting in them. Some of them I have seen, most of them I have not yet watched though most were in our queue. But, I also noticed that there were some obvious ones missing and some newer ones that came out after this list was made. So, help me out if I’m missing any…
- Calendar Girls
- Lost in Translation
- Whatever Happened to Baby Jane
- Birthday Girl
- Mumford
- Breakfast at Tiffany’s
- State and Main
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
- The Addams Family
- The Secret of Roan Inish
- Together
- Ed Wood
- The Adventures of Wallace and Grommit
- Anne of Green Gables (I cannot recall if knitting is actually there, or if it is just balling yarn, but I figured close enough)
- I (Heart) Huckabees
I am sure this is still not a complete list. So, leave a comment if you know of other movies with knitting in them!
Okay, so a little more legit knitting content…
Still laying off the knitting a bit. My wrists are feeling better now that I hooked the trackball up to the laptop instead of using the touch pad, but I don’t want to push it too much. Instead, I’ve been designing! I have another sock design in progress and ready to start knitting as soon as my wrist is ready.
Also, I’ll be needing a test knitter of the fixed Citrus Hat pattern, preferrably for the infant or toddler size. I should be ready with the pattern by the end of next week and will need an FO and comments as soon as you can (preferrably in a week, it is a small hat). If you are able to take good digital photos (300 dpi and low or no compression) I’ll credit you in the pattern as test knitter and share your image(s) as well. Leave a comment if you are interested.
Tomorrow, I get to FINALLY go to Shuttles, Spindles and Stabbity Sticks (as DH renamed them)! We’re also having high tea at Dushanbe Tea House. We’re treating SIL3 and her BF as a much belated graduation celebration for the BF. BF is a fan of tea and has a brother in Tajikistan so we though it was a very fitting outing.

Ooooo Kristi - pick me, pick me! I’ve been perusing toddler knits for something fun for my just-turned-three niece; the Citrus Hat sounds perfect.

Sounds like you’ve got a fun day planned tomorrow;-)
You know, there’ll be a knitting group meeting at the Borders on Pearl St in Boulder Saturday at 3pm.

I’m also available as a test knitter. My credentials are thus: I have achieved correct gauge at least once in my life, I only have only abandoned one project to the frog pond, I can handle complicated patterns, I have some graphic arts training and a good camera. But please don’t judge my abilites by the lazy photos in my blog that I take with the camera in my phone
