I got a response from Plymouth yarn about my needle tip. They said they had never heard of it happening with their needles before. I had expressed concern about my US9 and US10 tips as well because of the US8 tips, the one that cracked has kind of pocked tips that weren’t truly smooth like the other US8 tip and the other smaller sizes. And, Plymouth is sending out new US8-10 tips for my set.
I hate to have to go through this sort of trouble and if I can have a product that is going to stand up and not require me to contact the manufacturer I’m very happy. However, am I quite pleased that Plymouth is standing behind their product.
Now, I’m finally getting my lesson wrapped up. Should I still go get some Turbos so I don’t have to wait the week for the new tips to arrive?
A rooster? A rooster on a knitting blog? They don’t produce spinable fibers do they? Ah, Kristi, are you okay?
Well, if you had asked me last night if I was okay I would have definitely said no and kindly asked you to put an end to my misery. However, after some loud crying and DH taking my laptop to a safe location where I could not fling it to the ends of the earth, oh and I suppose a somewhat decent night of sleep has me doing better this morning. Though I’m still quite bitter.*
See, today is a big day for much of the world - Ash Wednesday for practicing Christians and Catholics and Chinese or Lunar New Year! And, this year is now the year of the Rooster. Hence, the photo of the prime specimen above.
Knitting content? Sorry, I don’t really have anything to report since on breaks from writing to read the blogs and such I couldn’t grab mindless knitting (DH’s multi-directional). Nor did I have any time to start working on the second Sockapalooza sock
Still no word back from Plymouth on my needle situation, just the automated e-mail that arrives when you first hit Submit on the contact form. I’ll give them today and then I will try going through the Ebay seller. Meanwhie, I’m highly tempted to go to Woolen Treasures and get a size 8 Addi Turbo. DH keeps saying he’s willing to wait and doesn’t care if he doesn’t get any use out of the scarf this season, but I feel a bit guilt. And, frankly I kind of like the excuse of getting another pair of Turbos :-/
* See, I lost about 1,000 words of this week’s lesson I was writing. It became corrupted into machine language. This was discovered about 8pm last night after I had already written nearly 2,000 words for the day. And, the lesson was to be uploaded and activated by midnight! Though, this melt down has finally prompted DH to FINALLY order me a new hard drive for my lap top. So, once this term is over I’m looking forward to starting over with a clean and decent hard drive that isn’t littered with bad sectors that it doesn’t tell the computer are bad.
Shall I reward myself for not permanently disabling my lap top yesterday?
