Hello from a Bag Lady!

3/16/2005

I am a bag lady. I enjoyed bags before, but I have never been so obsessed with bags as I am now that I knit. It is kind of funny. Late last week I got a new one-of-a-kind bag to add to my collection. It is a great purse size or small project bag for socks. It’s an art purse from Megan Noel. You can check out her other great art purses on her web site. Mine is the Jade Bamboo purse on the top, though it was a really tough call between that one and Violet Shadows! I also got one of her lovely cuff bracelets! Oh, and she takes custom orders too, so you could get one exactly the size you want with just the pockets you want etc.

Though I am not carrying socks in this wonderful bag until I have point protectors for those dangerous little sock needles! Last week I had sock needles poke a hole through my faux leather handbag that I loved because it has a light inside it so I can see what is in there, despite the black lining. *sigh* I really must get some point protectors, but so far no one around here has had them small enough for sock needles. I’m sure Lambspun does, but I won’t go there. I’ll see if Woolen Treasures has some tomorrow.

I have dabbled in some bag making of my own and of course I am published in a book on fabric books so making something along these lines should be within my grasp. So, I’ve purchased some really fun fabrics and beads to play with. Once again, mostly green…. :-) Some of that fabric will be used to cover some books as well I’m sure.

  1. Her bags are gorgeous. I have a feeling any you make will be as well. Call it an educated guess.
