I’m a dork…

8/10/2004

Man, I was up to the heel flap when I got to Stitch ‘n Bitch last night. Note, I cannot do the slip stitch stuff and still talk! Grrrr! I think 2 rows out of 7 or 8 of working on the right side I had to rip back nearly to the beginning because I got out of synch and of course I didn’t realize it until I was nearly to the end of the row and noticed I wasn’t going to end with a K1!

Amanda joined us for the first time last (hi, Amanda!) and she confirmed my thoughts that I don’t have the Kitchner right. She couldn’t tell if I had it backwards and ended up with a purl row on the outside or if I pulled it too tight or if it was both. I’m leaning towards both. I need to find other directions than what is in the Finishing Techniques book. I have not gotten it right yet trying to work out of that one. I’m going to practice with some swatches in worsted weight I think (once I find some other directions - I’m not sure of any of my other books have them or not…) and perhaps get some assitance from someone who knows what they are doing!

I’m up *very* early this morning and ready to go back to bed, but I know if I do I’ll probably be quite late for knitting tea because I would like sleep until 9 or 10am. So, I’m trying to stay occupied until tea time…
