I’m bad…
At knitting tea today I made a small purchase. I suppose that is the danger in getting together with people to knit at a yarn show, LOL!
I picked up some thread to reinforce toes and heels for socks for DH, but then I caved and also picked up a ball of Sockotta in color 30 (which I’m gathering is new as most sites don’t list it).

There is a gal who is sister of one of the regulars at knitting tea who was diagnosed with lymphoma. But it has taken years, though she only seriously was persuing it the last 6 months. Though in those 6 months she was misdiagnosed several times, including by the Mayo Clinic! But it doesn’t look great. She left with her mother to spend the next 4 months under intensive chemo in Houston. She has a little 10 year old son. I’ve met her and she is so bright and bubbly and had I met her a little earlier I’m pretty sure we’d be good friends. I’ve only gone to a movie with her and to lunch a few times. She can’t often make it to knitting tea because her husband is self-employed and she works for him. So, I’m thinking I’ll make some anklets from the Sockotta with some eyelash tops to make them fun and whimsical.
I got to turn the heel of my green Opal socks and got about half way through the gusset decreases. I would have kept going at it except my left hand started to get a little crampy. But, I suspect no more than a week or so and they will be done! Oh, and an update on the Kitchner - I think the diagrams in Stitch ‘n Bitch jive with me much more than the photographs in Finished Techniques. I still haven’t checked to see if there is anything in the Ann Budd or Sally Melville, but I think Stitch ‘n Bitch will do it for me. Yeah!
