Just a Quick Pop-In

6/13/2005

I spent a little bit of time spinning on Amanda’s Little Gem yesterday. Wow, was that smooth. And, I had to slow down. I got on and thought I’d have to run with that little wheel, but I didn’t! I’m drooling. DH isn’t happy, LOL!

Also, if have a change a fellow Artgrrl pal of mine, Eliza of Moderngypsy started spinning a little over a year ago now if memory serves. She’s been spinning and dying up a storm in that time and is now selling some of her stash as she’s spun and dyed way more than she could ever use. So, go chec it out at http://moderngypsy.com/storytellers/ if you get a chance. I think she should consider adding dyed roving to her product line, how about you???

Back to work for me!

Anticipation…

6/12/2005

While I am anticipating Estes Park this coming weekend, the anticipation of which I speak in the title of this post is not a positive anticipation.

I have a strong feeling that there will not be much in the way of knitting time over this next week. I’ve got some major work that needs wrapped up over this week in anticipation of the end of the term of my online classes that I teach. And, in order to set up the class calendar to be clear in December in hopes that I could enjoy the holiday season this year the next term begins right on the heels of this current term without the usual two week break to reset classrooms make adjustments etc. To top it off, I’ll be traveling during that term as well. So there is a lot of work to be done in a short amount of time.

Oh, and I hope to release Heatwave on Wednesday, but that requires some additional work yet as well, including designing the wrapper.

So, I just wanted to let you know, all is well (or will be) and I’ll probably only pop in once or twice this week. But, next week will be reports from Estes, so don’t go away for too long.

Oh, and don’t forget the contest in Friday’s post. I have no entries yet, so your chances are good!

Mish Mash Make Up & Contest

6/10/2005

To make up for yesterday, I have pictures!

Evidence that I now dress to match my socks!

Here is picture proof that am now indeed dressing to match my socks. In fact, Amanda wanted to ask me where my purple headband was when she came to SnB on Monday and I was wearing the get up. Someone, please tell me that I do not need a second pair of Crocs in purple just to go with this obnoxiously loud outfit?!?!?!?!?

Then, on Wednesday, I had this lovely little box awaiting my pick up at my PO Box. I wasn’t expecting anything so I had no idea what it was the name and address didn’t look too familiar to me. However, when I opened it up, I squealled with delight…
Sonja's Coffe Coin Purse

Inside was this lovely little coffee-themed coin purse made by Sonja of Georgia. She sent it to me filled with one of my all time favorite candies - Andies Mints along with a lovely thank you letter thanking me for posting the instructions on how to carry a stitch pattern down the heel flap for clog or sandal socks. Thank you so much Sonja! I’m in awe of the lovely dainty zipper as putting zippers in anything has always scared me, let alone to put in such a small zipper in such a small item - wow!

Some more fixation in my stash!

On Tuesday I had a hair cut appointment down in Loveland in the morning (don’t ask - let’s just say I spend another $35 this morning) and DH’s car went back into the shop (after being there last Tuesday) and was there until last night I might add and goes back for yet more testing next Wednesday *sigh* But I try to make lemonade from lemons whenever I can. So, I stopped into one of my favorite LYSs, Woolen Treasures. I bought more sock appropriate needles - US 2 and US 3 short Bryspuns and 2 16″ US0 Addi Turbo’s to try the two circ method that Snow is always raving about. But, upon the success of Heatwave, I picked up some more Fixation. The multi-color one is subdued enough and more manly colors that I’m hoping to talk DH into occassion wearing socks other than his dress socks when he wears shorts :-) The sage green will be mine (of course) and perhaps the toes of DH’s if need be.

Can guess the project?

I’ve also been playing around with a few things this week since I finished Heatwave. Though I’ve only been doing so rather late at night while trying to watch the last few episodes of X Files season 1 so it hasn’t been entirely successful. Can you guess what it is going to be when it grows up? Those at SnB on Monday are not eligible. But, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll likely have a good idea of what it is. Anyone who guesses correctly will be put into a drawing next Friday morning and will recieve a goodie from me.

I had a post…

6/9/2005

I had a post composing in my head this morning, but once I got back from dropping DH off at the bus stop (his car is entering day 3 in the shop, with no word from them yet) I had some troubling e-mail in my inbox that just about makes me want to give up on life…

Well, that in combination with sheer exhaustion from not getting more than 2 hours of sleep at a time for at least the last month and it’s more than I can handle right now…

So, I’m sorry to disappoint, but I do not have any knitting content to post today…
