Future Shopping?
I have to get the skinny from my mom as to how we will be working the schedule on my trip. What I do know is that we go to a show on the 23rd and my sister’s plane lands about 5 minutes to Midnight on the 24th. I do not know if we’re just staying in the Twin Cities Metro or not, but they just dropped my sister off this morning (along with her spiffy Designedly, Kristi travel journal). So, I shall ring her this afternoon and try nail down what the plans are. Since it’s roughly a 2 hour drive between the metro and my parents I’m not too keen on driving in and home two days in a row, but it isn’t my call either.
If, we end up needing to fill up the 24th with things to do I’m thinking I’d like to make it to the following:
- Creative Fibers in Minneapolis
- Amazing Threads in Maple Grove
- Detta’s Spindle in Maple Plain
- I’m also going to e-mail Blue Sky Alpacas in St. Francis to see if they are ever open to the public at all.
Am I missing any other obvious stops? I think I’m mostly looking for fiber more than yarn. Though Snow is such a good enabler I would like to find yarn for this while on my trip.
Then I also know I’ll be going to Uniquely Knit in New London with my grandma at some point and I’ve heard that is a really great shop, though don’t think they have any fiber.
The upstairs was up to 86 degrees as a high last night and the basement went up to 75 degrees even though we didn’t go down there until nearly 8pm. It didn’t cool off well at all last night. The upstairs was still 77 this morning. However, I have a lot of noise, two high school boys and I’m guessing their dad putting in gable vents and another layer of R-19 insulation over our 30 year old R-19 that is already in there. So, hopefully that will help us cool down at night a little better and pull ahead of the heat some.
Snow is coming over soon and we’ll busy ourselves here for a bit and then do lunch before her appointment with the lawyerly person. I’m excited. I could use the distraction to get my mind off of the heat and the things I’d like to get done before my trip (though I did finish my city sales tax forms yesterday - wheeee).
