It’s a Warmlet!

Part wrist warmer, part cuff braclet - it’s a WARMLET!
In trying to come up with a way to preserve, yet use small amounts of handspun yarn I came up with the idea of knitted and beaded cuff bracelet which ends up being somewhat like a wrist warmer, but it has a closure like a bracelet and is knit in a lace pattern. This one used about 27 yds or so of my handspun merino tussah silk blend that I got as part of my spinning class. I *love* it! It shows off the great yarn (if I do say so myself) and it goes great with jeans. I also like the glitz of the beads. And, I made my own beaded bead button closure for it as well.
Then, during my insomnia last night I pilaged through some of my left over yarns in the studio, trying to keep from causing an avalanche and knit up another one. I haven’t decided upon the closure I want to do for this one, but it’s blocked. The yarn is angora so it has a halo that kind of obscures the lace pattern and the beads slighltly, but I still like it and it feels like heaven on your wrist!
I am loving these soooo much! They are quick and I can use up beads and yarns that are left overs or small amounts of handspun. I also want to make some that are chokers! I think that would be really cool. I think I’m going to make one to match the second warmlet as I think there is just enough of the angora left. Plus, it’s a fun way to test out various lace patterns as well.
