Making a home!

3/6/2004

Wheee, it has only taken me several hours to begin to get a handle on setting this blog to be a little more personal, LOL! Like the purple and sparkly header? I already knew the CSS stuff and for the moment I’m not touching the PHP stuff so I think it’ll hang out like this for the time being.

I was working on a modification of the Chinese Charm Bag from Stitch-n-Bitch and I even made up my own little stitch patter, but it ended up too far down on the bag so I need to rip out about 15 or so rows and start again :-/ oh well. It was going pretty fast anyway. I think we’re going to watch a Collin Firth movie to put us in the mood for SNL tonight with Collin Firth and Norah Jones!! So, I should be able to maybe wrap it up tonight??? We’ll have to see. Of course I’ll still need to make the liner and attach the handles… I’m hoping to make a coordinating drop stitch scarf to go with the bag. I might offer it to my sister first as the colors will look nice with her wardrobe. If she doesn’t want it I might donate it to The Rainbow Chorus (TRC) silent auction since I only carry a Healthy Back Bag because of my back troubles.

I also have a vertical stripe black and pink scarf I want to make and several other projects. Of course I really need to make some progress on the reader’s wrap for my MIL. I ditched the seed stitch idea because doing seed stitch on boucle while trying to watch a movie or TV (when I do almost all of my knitting) was not working and she knows nothing of knitting so she won’t look at it and say “it’s only garter stitch” so I’m starting over after having done about 16/70 inches! But, garter should go much, much faster once I actually work on it. Though I’m not wanting to take it to the knitting tea on Tuesdays anymore because they had all seen it at 16 inches of seed stitch, LOL! I must stop thinking that way! At some point I am no longer going to be able to show up each week with a brand new project! :-)

Well, time to wrestle up some grub…
