Craft Supply Mysteries…
Well, my 41-lb box from my visit home arrived last Thursday and I’ve finally gotten around to unpacking it. It wasn’t quite all knitting stuff, but a good majority of it was. I had put some of the heavier clothes I had brought home and some other books I was given from my cousin in there.
Anyway, when going through my grandma’s knitting and related “stuff” we came across a few oddities and some pleasant surprises. One odd thing was that she had only a single size 50 knitting needle, LOL! But there were also a couple items she no longer knew what they were for. So, I’m asking your assitance to help me identify these two objects…
Mystery Object #1

The word carved into it appears to be “Lael” and it is on both sides.
Mystery Object #2 - Disassembled

Mystery Object #2 - Assembled

I sort of have my guesses, but am not sure and would be ever so greatful if you posted about these things in your own blogs so I could get some answers!
New Knitting Milestone
Last night I hit a milestone in my knitting…

I broke my first sock needle while trying to pick up the stitches on the side of the heel flap, LOL! It was a Brittany, but thanks to my recent trip and the kindness of my grandmother I can now easily switch to metal sz 1 needles…

Stephanie, eat your heart out at all those great colors of needles! I’m not real big on using the metal needles, but now I have more than enough needles to spread the joy of knitting to my friends without thier needing to invest a bunch before they know if they like it or not! Whee!
I acquired many more things, but I think I’ve gotten picture heavy enough for one post so I’ll save the books and other fiber arts gadgets for another day…
