Lust…

9/8/2004

I *soooo* want to knit a Klaralund. However, I’d have to up the size about 3 steps probably. I suspect it should be pretty easy to do since they are all rectangles. However, I’d hate to spend $10.95/ball for 17 balls of yarn. Yes, I’d love to have something in my collection made from Noro. I was just bemoaning this fact to my sister yesterday. I’d love to make this in #82 or #86…. *drool* Then, what if I knit it up and and looked like crap on me?? That would be $190+ (incl. shipping) of yarn down the drain?? Yikes! Scary thought…

However, I am kind of wondering what it might look like to knit the sleeves in one color and the front and back in another of a more standard, more affordable yarn for ample garments…

It would only take about 10 skeins of Lamb’s Pride worsted. I wouldn’t know what the ratio of yarn for sleeves vs yarn for the body is until I bought the pattern and it could be if I did two colors that I would have to buy a couple more skeins. However, it would be very nearly 1/2 the price of the Noro. Then, if the fit was nice then I could sink money into Silk Garden…. Hmmm….

I’m so in lust and I have to admit part of it is the Noro yarn. I wish I were independtly wealthy!
