HoT bEAds!

9/1/2004

The lastest fashion in home decor are HoT bEAd scarves for candle holders…

Completed Hot Beads scarf.
sz 11 needles
Lion Brand CottonEase (Orange) and Sinfonia (Pink) Yarn
CO 12 sts
Beads Craft’s Etc. Pink Rainbow Mix from Hobby Lobby

I finished the beading on Hot Beads yesterday at Lambspun’s knitting tea. It was a big hit, though not as popular as the other orange and pink project I cast on and started on Saturday night since I didn’t want to try fringe and bead in the dark while watching movies with our friends.

Without further ado, I present Miami Waves (in progress)…
Miami Waves scarf in process.
Same statistics as HoT bEAds except I CO 18 sts and used a different stitch pattern (which is really what had everyone ooohhing and aaahhhhhing yesterday I think, but it is soooo simple I laugh).

I did a little housekeeping over on the right… I added some blogs I had on my BlogLines account that I read daily that weren’t listed over there. I also removed a few that didn’t jive with me. You’ll also see I added a new (but small) category of links - Art Blogs. These are the cream of the crop with lots of great info and inspiring colors and art work.

I have had an inquiry about what the difference between knitblogs and knitblogs 2 is… Knitblogs are those blogs which have syndication feeds that allow me to read their posts through bloglines. Those in knitblogs2 do not have syndication feeds or thier syndication feeds do not work regularly. I am not saying anything about the quality of the blog or the knitting content with these headings. It is just so I don’t have to go through a huge list and try to remember who I can read at bloglines and who I can’t. One other note, the higher a blog is on any of the lists, the more regularly it tends to be updated. Again, just a way to help me know which ones I need to click and when.

In non-knitting news, I’ve opened up enrollment for my first term of on-line classes on my own web site instead of at Eclectic Academy! I just started a test term for tweaking the new classroom system and I already have a huge thumbs up for it being a HUGE improvement over the EA system. So, I’m really looking foward to this getting under way.
